Names You'll Recognize
Chris
Bourque: Boston University freshman forward and hero of
this year’s recently completed Beanpot Tournament is the son
of five-time Norris Trophy winner and newly inducted Hall of Fame
defenseman Raymond Bourque.
Ted
Donato: Donato, who played nearly 800 NHL regular-season
games during his 13-year career, is in his first year as head coach
at his alma mater, Harvard.
Al Montoya:
Michigan goaltender led U.S. team to its first-ever gold
medal at the 2004 World Junior Championship in Finland and was taken
by the New York Rangers with the sixth overall pick in last year’s
NHL Entry Draft.
Dave
Poulin: Another head coach now at his alma mater, the Notre
Dame graduate played 12 seasons with the Flyers, Bruins and Capitals
and won the Selke Trophy as the NHL’s best defensive forward
in 1987.
Paul
Stastny: The forward, who skates for defending national
champion Denver, ranks fourth among NCAA freshman with 31 points.
His father, Peter, scored 1,239 points for Quebec, New Jersey and
St. Louis during his Hall of Fame career and was 1981 NHL Rookie
of the Year.
