Key Statistics: Boisvert made huge strides in his sophomore season, improving his goal total by seven and point total by 21 in just eight additional games. His 11 goals ranked fifth on the Pioneers and his 21 assists ranked third, with all but one goal coming in league play. Boisvert was sixth in points for Atlantic Hockey players in the Class of 2010 and 13th overall. Almost half of his goals (five) came on the power play. Before joining Sacred Heart he produced 19 goals and 44 points for the Notre Dame Hounds in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.

What He Does: Boisvert skates very well, has good quickness and great agility. His puck handling is very good and he boasts strong creativity. Sacred Heart coach Shaun Hannah knows he can keep Boisvert and Dave Jarman together on a top line, requiring only a replacement for leading scorer Alex Parent. Boisvert killed penalties, and also played with returnees Bear Trapp and David Grimson on the top power play.

The Bigger Picture: Hannah doesn’t anticipate Boisvert’s role to change this season, and he believes his forward can raise his production even more. Hannah says the 5-foot-9, 175-pound Boisvert has pro potential because he’s well conditioned and very strong for his size – the idea is not so far-fetched given Boisvert’s father, Serge, played for the Maple Leafs and Canadiens, and Erik participated in the Habs’ development camp earlier this month.

Sacred Heart coach Shaun Hannah on Boisvert: "He loves the game of hockey, just loves the game. His enthusiasm shows up in how he plays, how he practices. He plays with a lot of spark and a lot of fire. He has an excellent work ethic, and a real determination to improve as a hockey player. He has definitely met our expectations. He is moving in the direction that we were hoping for. We anticipated he would be playing this type of role for us."
