Most Outstanding Player
George
Gwozdecky, a couple of years ago, made the statement that
he had the best goaltending tandem in the country with Wade
Dubielewicz and Adam Berkhoel. Dubielewicz got most of the
press, but to have Berkhoel deliver a national championship
proves that George was right.
D
Ryan
Caldwell
Denver
He was
the defensive player of the year in the WCHA, and that certainly
showed throughout the tournament. It's going to be tough to
replace his leadership on the blueline.
D
Prestin
Ryan Maine
He was
a steady, physical presence in Maine's zone both Thursday
and tonight.
F
Junior
Lessard
Minnesota Duluth
What
more can you say? He scored two big-league goals Thursday,
and the Hobey Baker just caps a fantastic career.
F
Connor
James Denver
It's
unbelievable the way he was able to come back from a broken
leg and have a terrific national tournament. He didn't show
any effects of the injury here.
F
Dustin
Penner Maine
I was
really impressed with him all weekend. He's a big, strong
guy who can really skate.
