Location: Durham, N.H.
Record: 25-7-6 (15-5-4 Hockey East, tied for first)
Qualified: Hockey East automatic bid
NCAA Championships: None
NCAA Appearance: 13th (most recent, 2002)
Head Coach: Dick Umile
Key Players: Lanny Gare, F, Sr. (22-28—50); Colin Hemingway, F, Sr. (20-24—44); Mike Ayers, G, Jr. (24-7-6, 2.20 GAA, .925 sv%)
What You Need to Know: Hockey East's most complete team, the Wildcats won the league's regular-season and tournament titles. Their top two lines are as good as any in the nation, and they're led by seniors with plenty of tournament experience.
How They'll Advance: The top two lines have taken turns leading this team of late, and as long as both don't come up empty, they should have enough offense. Ayers needs to be strong in goal, and the Wildcats need to skate hard and draw penalties, so they can show off their potent power play (23.2 percent, but even better of late).
What Might Trip Them Up: He's been fantastic all year, but it's hard to forget Mike Ayers' performance in the NCAA semifinals last spring. And history is against UNH: they've never won an NCAA title.

Location: Boston, Mass.
Record: 24-13-3 (13-10-1 Hockey East, fifth)
Qualified: At-large bid
NCAA Championships: Four (1971, 1972, 1978, 1995)
NCAA Appearance: 27th (most recent, 2002)
Head Coach: Jack Parker
Key Players: Sean Fields, G, Jr. (23-12-3, 2.46 GAA, .911 sv%); Frantisek Skladany, F, Jr. (13-20—33); Mark Mullen, F, Jr. (12-14—26)
What You Need to Know: Wondering how a team can be fifth in its conference but earna second seed? Play a tough schedule, and win those games. The Terriers were very good in big games, as evidenced by their titles in the Beanpot, Great Lakes Invitational and IceBreaker tournaments, and their run to the finals of the Hockey East Tournament.
How They'll Advance: Continue to get great efforts from Sean Fields, and pick up offense from a variety of sources. Eight Terriers have at least 10 goals, but none has more than 13. Getting captain Freddy Meyer back from a shoulder injury would be a big boost as well (he missed the Hockey East semifinals and championships).
What Might Trip Them Up: The Terriers have shown that they can score goals, posting six against BC in the Hockey East semifinals, for example. But Parker admits that a shootout doesn't play into his team's hands – especially in a bracket that includes Harvard and New Hampshire, who can both run and gun.

Location: Cambridge, Mass.
Record: 22-9-2 (17-4-1 ECAC, second)
Qualified: At-large bid
NCAA Championships: One (1989)
NCAA Appearance: 18th (most recent, 2002)
Head Coach: Mark Mazzoleni
Key Players: Dominic Moore, F, Sr. (23-27—50); Tim Pettit, F, Jr. (17-27—44); Dov Grumet-Morris, G, Jr. (18-8-2, 2.25 GAA, .929 sv%)
What You Need to Know: A year after making a trip to the tournament as the surprise ECAC Tournament champion, the Crimson are back. They earned the bid over the course of the season behind a talented group of forwards and strong goaltending from Dov Grumet-Morris.
How They'll Advance: Dominic Moore had a slow start to the season in terms of offensive numbers, with only three multiple-point games in the first 21 outings. He's had 10 multiple-point games in the last 12, with a point in every game during that time (11-17—28) and will be the key to the Crimson's hopes, at least offensively.
What Might Trip Them Up: Harvard hasn't proven that it can beat the best teams, posting a 1-4-1 record against teams outside the ECAC and an 0-3-0 mark against ECAC champion Cornell.

Location: St. Cloud, Minn.
Record: 17-15-5 (12-11-5 WCHA, sixth)
Qualified: At-large bid
NCAA Championships: None
NCAA Appearance: Fifth (most recent, 2002)
Head Coach: Craig Dahl
Key Players: Ryan Malone, F, Sr. (15-20—35); Joe Motzko, F, Sr. (17-24—41); Jon Cullen, F, Sr. (16-21—37)
What You Need to Know: Dahl figured his team was out of NCAA Tournament contention after its first-round WCHA Tournament loss to Minnesota-Duluth, but after taking a close look at the possibility for an at-large bid, the Huskies returned to practice last Thursday.
How They'll Advance: Turn their status as the team nobody wants here into a positive. The Huskies should also benefit from their tough schedule – it is, after all, the reason that they're here.
What Might Trip Them Up: Maybe an upset is possible, but for a team that posted only two weekend sweeps all year, a Frozen Four trip seems out of the question. Even one win would be monumental for a team that gave up a touchdown in its last outing and is 0-3 all-time in the NCAAs.
