In Boston, college hockey gets attention but Bentley usually misses out, but goaltender Joe Calvi is recognized in today's Globe. Posted on Nov 07, 2007 at 12:11 p.m.

That's what happened in last weekend's Cornell-Quinnipiac game, and a penalty shot was awarded, even though the defender got the puck before tripping the player. It was the right call, according to the NCAA rule book. That story, and other notes on Cornell, courtesy of the Ithaca Journal.

Tough to win two
Posted on Oct 19, 2007 at 12:24 p.m.

Storyline Cut Short
Posted on Oct 19, 2007 at 10:29 a.m.

This weekend was to be a triumphant return to Maine for Matt Lundin, now at Mercyhurst, but an injury will force him not only to miss this weekend, but six to 12 weeks total. That puts freshman Ryan Zapolski in the spotlight for the Lakers and highlights for Maine the need to keep Ben Bishop healthy (as if they needed that reminder). Elsewhere in the league Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State prep for a playoff rematch knowing that this time, at least, overtime ends in five minutes. North Dakota meets a rival as well, but this one is outside the league as the Fighting Sioux face BC.
