Collegians highlight U.S. Junior Evaluation Camp

As many as 30 current, future and former collegians will take part in USA Hockey's 2004 National Junior Team Evaluation Camp, to be held Aug. 9-14 in Grand Forks, N.D.

Participating players in the camp are candidates for the 2005 U.S. National Junior Team, which will compete in the 2005 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship. The tournament will take place Dec. 25, 2004-Jan. 4, 2005 in Grand Forks, N.D., and Thief River Falls, Minn.

Eight of the participants are returning members of the 2004 U.S. National Junior Team that won the country's first gold medal in World Junior Championship competition.

North Dakota head coach Dean Blais will be the head coach of the 2005 U.S. team. He will be assisted by Scott Sandelin, Blais' former assistant with the Sioux and the current head coach at Minnesota Duluth, and David Quinn. Quinn was named the associate head coach at Boston University on Monday after spending two seasons with the U.S. National Team Development Program.
